Suppliers of Quality Stone

Denfind Stone Drystane DykesDenfind Stone was established in 2004 and began by supplying dykers, builders and landscape gardeners with a quality flat bedded natural stone ideal for dry stone dyking.  The stone comes from a disused Angus sandstone quarry and is the waste product from the quarrying process of 100 years ago.

In the last two years we have expanded our stone sales to include three different grades of dyking stone in response to the varying needs of our customers.

We have also responded to a demand for natural stone cladding for new builds and extensions to existing properties by investing in a state of the art stone guillotine from Italy.    This enables us to supply a random stone burst to a specific width for cladding.

Denfind Stone
Today a new business has evolved from the material which was discarded by the quarries of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The stone that was considered waste 100 years ago was dumped in large heaps around the periphery of the excavation.

Pitairlie Quarry Denfind StoneToday, using modern equipment and an understanding of what the market requires, Denfind Stone has begun to recycle this spoil material and screen it to produce top quality, flat bedded dyking stone.

The stone from the spoil heaps is carefully screened to yield a product which ensures minimum wastage and maximum efficiency when used to build a drystane dyke. This is achieved by providing the dyker with a clean material which eliminates the need to sift through soil or unsuitable stone which can be brought in with stone from an old demolished dyke.
